CONCEPTUAL ENGINEERING
Elixir team have been involved in many Conceptual Engineering Studies where the initial technical concepts were further explored and defined and systematic documentation was generated in terms Process Selection Report (CSR) as deliverable. With the documentation from Elixir clients should be able to achieve more precise definition, a better cost estimate and, ultimately, a scope of work for FEED providing the link between field development planning and FEED.
The scale of a Conceptual Engineering can vary dramatically depending on the nature of the project. Regardless of scale, the activities include:
- Identifying the options and developing the schemes for each option.
- Technology selection required for each option
- Issue of enquiries for major equipment.
- Cost estimating and economic assessment
- Risk assessment involved in each option
- Options evaluation (techno economic) based on defined weightage
- Preliminary P&ID development
- Layout development
- Preparation of preliminary project schedule
- Project execution plan and contracting strategy finalisation
- Preparation of survey scopes of work, tendering and management of the work
- Basis of design update
- FEED Scope of Work
As a result, the Concept Selection Report (CSR) with a selected option in which:
- Final option selection is made;
- Risks and uncertainties are understood and mitigated where appropriate;
- The execution approach, cost estimate, budgets and schedules are clear and complete.
